Please be aware that the fullscreen mode of RuneScape HD is NOT currently available to free players, it continues to be a members-only benefit. We are looking at the possibility of a fullscreen mode for free players, with adverts displaying in the fullscreen window; for now, however, RuneScape HD’s range of graphical improvements are ready to be explored by everyone.
To find out how to play RuneScape in high detail, please visit the release newspost here.
If you are having issues with running RuneScape HD or would like more technical information about the update, visit the RuneScape HD FAQs here. You can also visit the Technical Support Forum for various threads that may help you.
We would also like to thank you for the wealth of comments, compliments and feedback we have received over the past couple of weeks. It is down to you that many small graphical issues have been resolved, with a number of changes being introduced in the update today.
This does not mean that we will ignore any feedback from now on, far from it, in fact. We welcome any constructive comments, to help us to continually improve RuneScape HD and make it as good as it can be.
This Week’s Releases:
On top of the full release of RuneScape HD, we have a bumper lot of updates that will benefit both free players and members:
First up is our bank update, which brings you tabs and a search function, among other changes, to help you organise your bank. Up to eight separate tabs can be created to help clear your banking mess.
Item Lending is next, bringing you a new way to help your friends! You can lend out a wide range of handy items, including many of RuneScape’s best weapons and armour.
We’ve gone back to the drawing board and completely reworked the tutorial: from the creation of your character right through to your first explorations of RuneScape.
In return for completing some tasks, you can receive a modest, but prompt, payment from various people in our Lumbridge Moneymaking update. So, if you’re feeling poor, the people of Lumbridge will help you to recover your finances, in return for a little hard work.
Finally, this week brings the free game’s first Achievement Diary. Travel to Explorer Jack to start your Lumbridge and Draynor Achievement Diary.

Rune HQ - RuneHQ - Runescape HQ Fan Site
Rune HQ - RuneHQ - Runescape HQ Fan Site
The Rune HQ web site (also known as RuneHQ or Runescape HQ) has to go down as what would be considered one of the biggest three Runescape fan sites on the internet along with Rune Tips (Tip It) and Runescape Help (Zybez & Runescape Community). Rune HQ was created by MrStromy but along with its forum helpers is maintained by a team of over 50 helpers. Rune HQ was created in late 2003 and has been quite a successful Runescape fansite since its creation. Its content and services have for that three year period been of a very high standard and generally been fairly up to date. Rune HQ has a large range of Runescape information, resources and services available for free to all its visitors including:
Forum
Auction House
Chatroom
Newspaper
Clan
Quest Guides
Skill Guides
Guild Guides
City Guides
Maps
Item & Monster Databases
Calculators
Dynamic Sig Maker
Dynamic Underbanner Maker
Bit of Rune HQ History
Whilst Rune HQ has a wealth of information and a number of volunteers working and maintaining it, the site itself hasnt always been financially stable. In late 2004, early 2005, Rune HQ was having a lot of difficulties with covering its own costs due to its own popularity and has ever since been advertising for donations from its users in the form of PayPal donations in addition to running Runescape gold selling sites in their Google Ads, something that has become almost the norm for most Runescape fan sites in the as a result of little advertisers in the industry other than Runescape gold sellers. In addition to this they have for a long time been affiliated with the Runescape Gold Making Guide; Runescape Guide which for the large part has been criticized for charging too much money for the guide and not offering much useful information on making Runescape Gold that wasnt already available for free on many Runescape forums and sites, including its own.
Rune HQ Cons
Probably Rune HQs biggest deficit has for a long time been the lack of support and warm friendly service. The site is renowned for having very tight restrictions and little flexibility in users ability to communicate on their forums. This has lead some to suggest that Rune HQ whilst in general offer great information services has lacked general hospitality which has lead many visitors to become loyal members of other rival Runescape forums. Despite this somewhat cold and seemingly inconsiderate nature, this is more a testament to Runescape HQs true size that it need to so heavily regulate users activities to streamline their processes.
Rune HQ whilst not the first Runescape fansite on the scene definitely has cemented itself as arguably the biggest and fastest growing in the industry and it no doubt feature as a prominent fan site whilst the game itself continues

Sacred clay tools - an observation, confirmation please
I love the Sacred clay tools, I like the extra xp when using them, I have fished 2k Sharks using the harpoon and chopped 1K yew logs and I have noticed something very strange.
No Randoms, in the whole time I used the harpoon I never had a troll, big fish, MOM or Dr Jekyll in fact I have not had any randoms.
Jagex said that they are going to get rid of some randoms because the bots have gone, I could see this being a problem because the likes of grave digger, drill sergeant and mime give clothes as a reward and these are fun for a while, I can understand people being upset at not being able to have them.
Have Jagex decided to use the new tools as a way to stop randoms, you still get randoms when using the Adze.
It may just be that I was lucky never getting randoms but it seems too much of a coincidence, especially when fishing, randoms come in phases and everyone around me was getting randoms on numerous occasions and I never had 1.
Even when chopping I had no randoms except the ones started by other players the ent for example, when you get the ent you cant chop it with a clay hatchet anyway.
I welcome comments from other players here.

How to Make Millions on Runescape Cheap Runescape Gold
I have read tons of articles, talks to hundreds of people, tried many different methods, all with one question. How do you make millions of gold on Runescape? Well, after a long while of digging through useless information, I actually stumbled upon real methods used by the pros! Yes, these methods can be done by ANYONE. There are not instant moneymaking methods, but these are very close. If you try your best, you are bound make millions of Runescape gold in a small amount of time! This I can promise.
Remember, all good things require effort. If I were you, I would pick a method that I enjoyed doing. My two favorite are Woodcutting and Fishing. In Fishing, you have a lot of friendly people that you can have a great time with. Woodcutting is not as friendly, but it is still fun. It is always nice to be around people and share the common goal. Then it’s like you’re in the club! Haha.
Easy cash can be gotten if you have about 50,000 gold already. Head over to Falador and buy all the lobsters at the price of 150 GP. Buy as many as you can, then go to the Varrok West Bank and sell these for max price. (You might also want to try the Grand Exchange - GE. I usually have more success in the GE than I do in the banks.) Although I have never tried this method, as it sounds a tad boring, people swear it works. They also say to buy a lot of silk from the silk trader in Al Kharid. Then, take the silk to Varrock and sell it in Varrock. I do not believe this is the key to millions, as they told me it is only about a 150-gp profit in 30 minutes, but again, if you like doing this, go for it.
People like to buy Bow Strings as well, so you might want to pick a bunch of flax and then spin the flax into Bow Strings. You can get about 100 Gold for each Bow String. Of course, this is a Pay to Play Member’s method only. Although this can take awhile to make a lot of money doing, as most methods, if you just work hard you will succeed.
One of my personal favorites is fishing. I would not recommend cooking your fish, as most of the buyers will buy them raw. I suggest this for Pay to Play as well, because you can fish in Catherby and bank in Catherby. There is no back and fourth from Falador to Karamja. (In addition, it is 30 coins back and fourth for the boat ride! That can be VERY costly!) I spent about a week just fishing. I was determined to get level 50, and sure enough, I did. After I was done, the surplus of fish I had stored up gave quite the profit. Lobsters and Swordfish can be EXCELLENT money makers. If you want to make a bunch of money really fast, fish. This is one of the reasons I do not think that the buy and sell method is good, you only make 150 gp in 30 minutes doing that, but when your fishing you can make about 28,000 in 30 minutes fishing! (Maybe more, according to how fast you catch the fish.)
If you are going to wood cut, the main tree to chop is Yew. Anything before Yew is not a very good money maker; Willows are OK, but nothing big. Anything after Yew is excellent money. Willows as I said are ok, defiantly cut them if you can’t cut yews, but as soon as you can cut yews, do it. There is a GREAT difference in the money. Remember, though, that it is also a great difference in the time spent chopping, especially after the first few levels. Most people wait another 10 levels before they chop yews. It is up to the chopper, I suppose.
Most Runescape Tips are not really tips, but rather common knowledge that is repeated over and over. This is useless when you are actually searching for ways to make millions, gain levels, get items, and so on. As I said, I have read many articles, talked to many people, and the like. A lot of what I “learned” was basic information, but with it I could build my own hybrid of methods. Anyone can make their own methods, but it is making the methods work that is hard. Is there a best way of making Runescape millions? I do not believe so, but rather the best for that person. If you do not like the way you are making money, then you will get bored, take more breaks, then eventually stop all together. This is not good when you are trying to make millions of Runescape gold. So pick ones that you will like to do, experiment with different methods and pick the one that you enjoy.
This does not mean you can not take breaks while money making, it just means that you do not want to become bored. You may also want to have a couple different methods and switch them up from time to time. One day you could fish, the next wood cut, the next mine, although this would require a lot more effort because of the levels, if you truly want to do this then it is worth it. The best way to make millions on Runescape, or achieve anything on Runescape, is to just keep at it.
Set small goals to reach your one big goal. Do things to keep your mission exiting. The worse thing that can happen is to become bored. Once you become bored, it will be harder and harder to achieve that goal, and the harder it gets, the more you will want to quit. So yes, taking breaks is a good thing in this matter. Perhaps you could reward yourself every now and then. Let’s say, every 1000 ore, you could take a break and have some fun. Something along that line, but this method does not work for everyone, some people just get determined and work till it’s done.

Runescape Ancient Magicks Guide runescape auto talker
There are several different types of magic in the world of Runescape. Which branch of powerful spells a player uses depends on several things. Ancient Magicks can only be used by players who pay the monthly membership fee, and even then, they must complete the Desert Treasure quest. Players may only use one type of magick at a time.
Players gain access to the Ancient Magicks by praying inside the pyramid. Once they do so, they can use Ancient Magicks but not normal spellsthey have to pray again to switch back. Praying drains away all of a player’s prayer points. Note that the first time a player travels through the pyramid; they must go through the entire area. However, once they reach the altar, they’ll gain the ability to use the shortcut to get directly to the altar from outside, saving a lot of time.
Types of Ancient Magicks
Ancient Magicks come in two types: teleport spells and damage spells. Spells can also be broken down by element. A few spells have restrictions on them. For example, Miasmic spells can only be cast by players who have Zuriel’s Staff equipped.
Blood spells heal the player and damage the enemy.
Ice spells freeze and hurt the target.
Shadow spells damage the target and lower their attack power.
Smoke spells damage and poison the target.
Miasmic spells damage the target and lowers its melee and ranged attack power.
There are also four different classes of spells:
Rush spells do high damage to a single target.
Blitz spells do very high damage to a single target.
Burst spells do high damage to enemies in a 3 x 3 area.
Barrage spells do very high damage to all enemies in a 3 x 3 area.
Ancient Magick Spells
Players can open their spell books to view all of the Ancient Magick spells that they know. These spells use more runes than normal spells, so players should be careful about using Ancient Magick over and over. These magicks do give experience like normal spells, plus players receive two magic experience for each point of damage they do with Ancient Magick spells.
Some of the Ancient Magick spells are listed below.
Home Teleport teleports the player to Edgeville. No runes are required for this teleport spell, but players can only cast it once every 30 minutes.
Shadow Rush lowers an enemy’s attack by 10% plus does damage.
Ice Rush Damages the enemy and freezes it for five seconds.
Smoke Burst Poisons the enemy.
Blood Burst Heals the player for 25% of the damage done to the enemy.
Miasmic Burst Slows all ranged and melee attacks by half for 24 seconds.
The Ancient Staff
Players don’t have to equip the ancient staff to use Ancient Magicks, but it certainly helps. It is the only item in the game that can auto cast Ancient Magicks, plus it provides a very nice +15 bonus to magic attacks. Players must first buy the ancient staff from Eblis for 80,000 gold pieces. Once they have purchased one, they can get another ancient staff by killing mummies in the ancients pyramid.
Ancient Magick Uses
One nice thing about all Burst and Barrage spells is that they can hit more than one enemy. This works very well in certain areas or while Player Killing on a team. They can also be a great way of training since you’ll get experience for each target hit.
Ancient Magicks are perhaps the most useful when used while killing other players in Bounty Hunter and the mini-games. Ice spells freeze and damage the target, allowing players to stay far away from their targets while casting spells at them. In fact, if a player’s opponent doesn’t use any ranged or magic attacks, freezing them in place effectively makes them trapped without any way of inflicting damage or escaping. Likewise, the Miasmic spells can greatly weaken an enemy by cutting their attack power in half. When combined, there is little a melee attack character can do against a master of the Ancient Magicks
